The MAGIC Foundation Convention, Chicago

The MAGIC Foundation Convention is an annual event attracting 1000 participants. It is always held at the Marriot O’Hare Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. This is a lovely family-friendly venue with lots of space and a large swimming pool!!

The convention runs for 3 days and is targeted at parents and children. It combines educational sessions with opportunities for support and networking with other families. Family-oriented social activities are scheduled for the evenings, offering a chance to continue networking with the many families who attend.

The convention is a fantastic opportunity for families to share information with and gain support from other families, learn about the latest medical research and speak personally with some of the world's leading specialists in growth disorders.

The conference is divided into separate divisions - RSS, Turner Syndrome, GHD, Precocious Puberty, etc. Each division organises seminars with expert speakers who provide well-targeted practical advice.

At the convention, the New Zealand families who attend make new friends and meet many children who share the same diagnosis as their child. Parents attend educational seminars to learn more about their child's medical condition, have the opportunity to ask questions of world-renowned specialists and talk to other parents. The families bring back a lot of information about a variety of growth disorders to share with families and doctors throughout New Zealand.
